Let's get serious.
The United States of America has not been fraught with a more dangerous
and deginerative disease as it is now. For more than 5 years now, your
nation has endured this pervasive disease and is quickly succumbing
to it. We, as a nation, are dying.
Our congressionally appointed president has, since he took
office, been destroying everything our nation stands for. In his
desire to fill his friends pockets he has given tax break after tax
break to the richest Americans while increasing taxes for working
Americans. If you don't think you were affected; check your tax
returns again. How much of your hard-earned money went to the federal
and state governments? Now, how useful is that $400 check, that
bounced?
In an attempt at lining his own pockets, he took us to war with Iraq.
There are no illegal weapons in Iraq. There hasn't been in years.
Bush was hoping that the Iraqis would set fire to their oil wells
again so he could pressure OPEC into increasing oil production. An
increase in oil production means more money for oil companies.
In an effort to offset overspending, Bush has been slashing funding
for every social program he can (which really shows in the needless
suffering of those hit by hurricane Katrina). Thousands of needy
college students, the ones that work hard while attending
college, will not be able to attend college because of budget cuts
to Pell Grants.
Now Bush wants to do away with overtime pay. Why? This is not
designed to create jobs. This is designed to keep lining big business'
pockets. Why go through the hassle and expense of hiring new, when
you no longer have to pay overtime for the employees you currently have?
Do you really think that businesses will hire you when they effectively
have slave labor?
One of the most prominant images I remember from the last election
was Bush's history with reguards to the environment. We were warned.
Now Bush proposes to do away with environmental protection. He says
we have to cut down more trees, that we have to allow oil drilling
in protected habitats! Bush didn't care about the legality or the
environmental impact of storing nuclear waste in an aging and unsafe
plant, all he cared about was getting a friend elected in Idaho.
Bush didn't care about the first ammendment to the constitution which
provides the people a resource for redress against the
government: he ordered that any protesters attempting to blockaid
nuclear waste shipments into S.C. be arrested or shot!
On top of this, Bush outright LIED to the residents
of South Carolina, LIED to the American public
when he stated that the Savannah river plant was to be used simply
for temporary storage of this dangerous nuclear waste:
the plant will now be converted to producing nuclear
triggers!
Bush doesn't care about your constitutional rights. He believes he
is above the law. Bush wants the ability to track everything you
do or say without having to abide by the constitutional protection
of privacy and due process. Did you know that the patriot act
allows your goverment to spy on you? That the
goverment doesn't even have to obtain a court order or warrant
to tap your phone lines, read your email, track your web usage,
track how you spend your money? That you could be placed in a
military prison where your constitutional rights to a fair and
speedy trial are not protected? This, just for speaking
your mind.
Because of an appointed president, we have lost our freedom.
We do need to oust a corrupt dictator. But this one is not in another
nation. This one sits in the highest office of the United States of
America. Take back your freedom before it's too late.
